One thousand three hundred twenty-five applicants competed in the exams for 162 positions—in the centre and provinces–of 18 government agencies in the exams centres of Kabul, Nengarhar, Herat, Bamyan, Kandahar, Khost and Balkh provinces.
Applicants competed for senior, mid-management, and low-level positions of the Independent Directorate of Local Governance, Railway Authority, Supreme Audit Office, National Environmental Protection Agency, Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission, Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs, State Ministry Martyrs and Disabled Affairs, Ministry of Energy and Water, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
Muhammad Karim, one of the applicants for a second grade position, says: “it only took me a few minutes to apply for the position of my choice. I participated in the computer-based exam and found the whole process better than I expected.”
Hasan Amiri, another applicant, says: “In the two stages of the exam that I participated, the emphasis was only on professional knowledge, general knowledge and individual abilities.”
